Energy Patterns for March 2014

Major Waveform Patterns:

Mar 1st to the 5th -- more of late Feb's big storm/Logjam.
Mar 6th to the 9th -- energies are falling apart.
Mar 10th to the 21st -- complex, harsh storm energies.
Mar 22nd to the 31st -- a weaker, but chaotic storm pattern.

An online ephemeris for the month is available. Check Current Transits, too.

March is not quite the nonstop storm activity that we saw in February, but it's got a couple of major storms with significant Koz Alert activity -- we'll be plenty busy in coming weeks. There's less aspect action than you see in a typical month, but considering the Logjam stasis where so many of the planets are all standing still, that's probably not too surprising. The aspects that happen anyway will be plenty for us to handle. As typical for so many months and for the next 3 months, the backbone of all this planetary action is that outer planet T-Square (Jupiter, Uranus, Pluto, with help from Chiron). Change is in the air and it's up to us to bring about the best potential of this tight ball of energy. There appear to be 4 main energy patterns to talk about this month.

Mar 1st to the 5th

The 1st to the 5th is a continuation of the important storm pattern that started in late February. The waveforms hit a peak energy around the time of the first new moon on the 1st, ranging from wimpy 347 units of energy towards the end of this period all the way up to a towering Koz Alert of 550 units. The harmonics are a mixture of H6, H24 and H12 -- there's room for constructive activity here, but it might be a bumpy road at times. The energy in this pattern is most prevalent around 11 and 28 degrees of each zodiac sign. See where this hits your own birth chart. March starts out with some amazing fireworks, especially at the new moon time. The Sun is contacting all the T-Square planets in these early days with an intensity that upsets the status quo in a fierce manner. After the Sun conjuncts Chiron on the 3rd, the T-Square begins to settle down and the storm quickly loses steam. The Logjam is in full stagnation this week, giving the world a pressure-cooker feeling. Handle people with kid gloves, as we're all feeling the tension, but have no way to resolve it. Any problems that arise now will probably hang around for a long time, so keep your eyes open for new developments.

Mar 6th to the 9th

I described the 6th to the 9th in my notes as a semi-noisy transition period. The energies are less intense for a few days, ranging from 331 to 424 units -- not much "oomph!" here. The harmonics consist of H12, H48 and H24 for the most part -- constructive activity is possible, but the cross currents are getting more treacherous. Most of the energy is focused at 9-12 and 25-29 degrees of each sign. Except for the Jupiter station on the 6th, the last of the Logjam planets to stand still, there's not much planetary action going on now. Catch your second wind, if you get the chance, and prepare for the next storm on the horizon. The Moon touches off a rather difficult pattern on the 6th, which is rather short lived in effect.

Jupiter is the last of the Logjam planets to change direction. In his case, he's starting to move in the normal direction, which means the challenges and lessons of his retrograde cycle will be resolving themselves in coming weeks -- assuming you've actually learned some lessons during this time. (Jupiter can be a lazy toad on a log and not put in any effort when it's needed. This rarely produces good results, however.) It's a mistake to think the Logjam is "done", however, as all these planets will be lumbering around in a sluggish way for several weeks yet. The world feels stuck in a rut during this time until some new options open up for us. The early March storm is breaking up around this time, so scale back your activities for a few days.

Mar 10th to the 21st

The 10th to the 21st is a rather lengthy and quite powerful storm pattern, apparently on the harsh side this time. The waveform grows in power, ranging from 338 units at the end to a high point of 536 -- a lot of tailwind here. The harmonics are mainly H24, H48 and H12, with the harsher and more demanding frequencies dominating the scene. Most of the activity is at 10-14 and 24-26 degrees. The early part of this period has Mercury (moving finally) as a trigger planet for the T-Square, connected by difficult 45 degree style aspects, while the second half is milder and more positive, with Venus doing the triggering. This is a complex period, with many energetic cross currents to navigate, so be aware and proceed carefully in your daily activities. It's probably a good time for receiving novel ideas and other inspirations, but I'd seriously check whether these ideas are ready for prime-time before putting them out into the world. Notions and images that emerge from the unconscious often need some time to mature before they can be put to practical use. This storm is a long haul, so pace yourself.

Mar 22nd to the 31st

Finally, the 22nd to the end of the month is a long, noisy and unfocused storm energy. At least the intensity knob is turned down a bit, with energy levels in the 344 to 478 unit region -- much easier to surf these calmer waves. The harmonics are generally H24, H4 (the T-Square) and H48 -- not much constructive support now. The focal areas are 9-12, 22-24 and 7 degrees of each sign. The astrological engine seems to be heating up again, with much more aspect activity going on than we've seen for several weeks. Mercury is triggering the T-Square during this time and the Sun is moving into position as we head into April. Further, Mars is starting to reenter the T-Square over in Libra, recreating the menacing looking Grand Cross we first saw back in January. This latter influence will hit its stride in mid-April. Life is getting busy again. This is no time for standing still. Fortunately, the energy levels now are not overwhelming, making it easier to handle. This pattern continues into early April.
