Energy Patterns for April 2013

Major Waveform Patterns:

Apr 1st to the 3rd -- the Koz Quakes are tapering off.
Apr 4th to the 8th -- more or less a transition.
Apr 9th to the 14th -- a miniature storm.
Apr 15th to the 25th -- messy, noisy energies.
Apr 26th to the end of the month -- building up to another storm.

An online ephemeris for the month is available. Check Current Transits, too.

Despite the slow demise of the Double Yods, it doesn't appear as if the storm energies ever really dissipate in April. Coming off the overwhelming Koz Quake energies of late March, these transitional periods will certainly feel weaker, but they still look like moderately powerful storms to me. The waveforms change their mood or flavor from time to time, but we never seem to get a genuine time out to rest up. There are still some outer planets aspects to deal with that could be considered aftershocks (leftover energy that needs to be discharged) of the Yods this spring, but we're moving into new territory now. I see 5 main energy patterns in April.

Apr 1st to the 3rd

The 1st to the 3rd are the last few days of the massive storm that took over late March. We start the month at 564 units of strength on April Fool's day (still a powerful Koz Alert) and taper off from there as low as 386 units (pretty wimpy). The harmonics in this waveform include H6, H4, H12 and H24 -- no free ride by any means, but influences you can harness if you work at it. The peaks are focused at 12-15 and 27 degrees of each zodiac sign. Check your own birth chart to see where these peaks hit you. This waning pattern includes pretty much every planet except Neptune, so it's a very complex and overpowering influence. However, it's running out of steam quickly. The Sun, Venus and Mars are leaving the pack behind, depriving the outer planets of the necessary triggers that spur them into action. If you have some projects underway, it's good to wind them down gracefully, especially if you need to mothball your efforts and get back to them later. Jupiter is also done making contacts as part of the Double Yod, so you need to reorient your social networks for new activities that haven't been on the radar until now. Time to get off the roller coaster!

Apr 4th to the 8th

The 4th to the 8th is weaker and noisier than the storm (not hard to do), but it's still more power than your average transition period. The waveform varies in strength from 382 to 512 units -- still moderately potent by more normal standards. The harmonics consist of H12, H48 and H24 -- the energies are more scattered and chaotic, harder to direct properly. The influences are concentrated at 18-21 and 9-11 degrees of each sign. Neptune is the focal planet during this brief time, receiving a string of octile aspects from the Sun, Venus and Mars. It sounds like a dreamy, romantic time, especially the Venus-Mars conjunction on the 6th, but octiles can be somewhat harsh and Neptune tends to leave our minds in a fog. This is more a time for the heart instead of the thinking mind, so put off the detailed jobs a few days more until this influence passes.

Apr 9th to the 14th

The 9th to the 14th is another miniature storm, probably on the harsh end of the scale. The waveform is in the 416 to 523 unit region -- still a lot of "oomph!" going on here. The harmonics are mostly a very pure H24 all by itself, so tension and stress may be close to the surface. The peaks are around 9-10 and 23-25 degrees. The new moon is on the 10th, a good time to initiate new projects. The big influence now is the Pluto retrograde station on the 12th -- Murphy's Law may be creeping in in some unexpected ways. Be flexible. Mercury moves from Pisces to Aries on the 13th. Your mental life is clearer and more focused, but this placement can also make you impatient to get things done. Pace yourself.

Apr 15th to the 25th

The 15th to the 25th can best be described as a messy, noisy storm. The waveform is in the 357 to 507 unit range, still plenty of power most of the time. The harmonics are a scrambled mixture of a fat H12 and lots of H48 -- it's hard to stay focused and on track. There are peaks at 9-11, 3-6, 15 and 26 degrees. The main trigger planets hitting the outer bodies one after another are Mercury during the first half of this time and Venus in the second half. It's a good time to assimilate new ideas and perspectives, first mentally and then on a more intuitive level. There are a lot of distractions and side issues going on, so try to carve out some time for important matters that are free of the little stuff. The lunar eclipse falls on the 25th -- we'll get back to this later.

Apr 26th to the end of the month

Finally, the 26th to the end of the month is the buildup of yet another storm. The waveform is gathering strength, ranging from 364 to 542 units. The harmonics are a mix of H6, H12, H24 and H48 -- mostly easy going, but with the more stressful harmonics in the background. The emphasized areas are 6-9 and 25 degrees. This period is an aftershock of the remnants of the Double Yod as the Sun starts triggering the outer planets just as Venus is finishing up. At least all these impacts from the outer planets are spread out now instead of coming all at once with an overwhelming effect. You may find your ego or your pride on the line now, though the matters are mostly inconsequential. Take a wider perspective and don't hold onto your ego so seriously -- the outer planets always point beyond the ego to a bigger picture. This pattern appears to still be going strong as we head into May.

There's a brief resurgence of storm energy kicking in around the 28th. I'm inclined to describe this as an aftershock of the Yods, or rather its waning remnants. The Moon in Capricorn is going over Pluto, so the intense Pluto vibe behind the month comes to the fore again. This can feel like a strange mood or otherworldly tug on you, a sense of oddness about some situation. Follow these moods, as they are hints of issues that you'll need to address in coming months, a cosmic "heads up" for you. There doesn't seem to be much staying power in this storm -- I expect things to be shifting shortly as we head into May.
