Energy Patterns for December 2004

Major Waveform Patterns:

Dec 1st to the 6th -- the month kicks off with a blast!
Dec 7th to the 17th -- a visit from Pluto and friends.
Dec 18th to the 25th -- a little time off for the holidays.
Dec 26th to the end of the month -- a bit of action for year's end.

An online ephemeris for the month is available.

At last, some waveforms that are worth looking at! The waveforms the last two months have been rather blah and monotonous, subtle changes within a uniform sameness. December has some real contrasts, including the first big storms since September. This should help shake some of the cobwebs off us and get us motivated again. The energies are also generally more grounded and less out there -- the Grand Quintile was getting quite spacey. There are 4 main energy patterns to discuss.

Dec 1st to the 6th

The 1st to the 6th is the big storm of the month. Coming on the heels of the Jupiter-Neptune trine on Nov 29, the weak planetary storm suddenly blooms into a rapid series of Koz Alerts that dominate early December. The waveform varies in strength from 407 to 559 units -- considerably more power than we've seen in months. The main harmonics consist of H12, H24 and a prominent H4 -- very positive and constructive energies, but there are some big rough spots as well. The peaks in these waveforms are at 12 and 27 degrees of each zodiac sign -- check to see if you have any natal planets near these power points. The Koz Alerts this week are unusually big, meaning it's easy for us to get caught up in events around us and be sweep along. They are good for getting work done, assuming you've your plans in place before hand. If you're trying to "just wing it", however, you may find the world moving along faster than you can sort things out. It's not a good time for the brain cells anyway, between Mercury retrogradeJupiter is a "big concept" man, but he's short on details and focus, while Neptune tends to be lost in a fog most of the time. Maybe we can make up for it with enthusiasm and vision. The trine is being kicked off by the Sun, Venus and Mars, making it very easy to channel this light energy into everyday life. Affairs of the heart could get interesting around the 5th when Venus and Mars conjunct in Scorpio -- avoid sticky emotional issues if you want to enjoy this time.

Dec 7th to the 17th

The 7th to the 17th is a continuation of the previous storm pattern, although you can tell by the fat, fuzzy peaks that the waveform is losing steam. The waveform is mostly in the 347 to 440 unit range, although it does peak out at 512 on the 9th. The harmonics include a "fat H12", H24 and considerable H48 -- still positive overall, but becoming less reliable all the time. A number of degrees are emphasized now: 18 to 20, 24 and 14 degrees. Actually, the first week of this period is a pattern distinct from the trine, so this is more a detour within the storm instead of a true continuation. The key configuration is seen most clearly on the evening of the 9th, when the Sun, Mercury and Pluto (all converging from different directions) is 30 degrees away from the Moon, Venus and Mars. Pluto, the Dark Lord, is the most senior planet in this group, causing us to dig deeper in any situation to find out how things really work. I'd avoid playing "power politics" with people, as this pattern is ripe for a backlash in such cases. I'd also stand back and just study the situation passively until after the new moon on the 11th, if you have the chance -- it's easier to direct the energies outward after the new moon. Start opening up to the inner planes in coming days, since we are entering a very influential period associated with the Galactic Center (GC).

Dec 18th to the 25th

The 18th to the 25th is a typical noisy transition period between storms, giving us some time to relax and regroup. The waveform is pretty wimpy these days, ranging in strength from 309 to 430 units. The harmonics are a mixture of H48, H24 and H12, with the more challenging and scattered harmonics dominating this time. The areas of emphasis are scattered across a number of regions: 1 to 4, 11 to 14 and 25 to 28 degrees of each sign. There's something there for everyone, it seems. There are no big unifying patterns this week (that's the definition of a transition period), just a bunch of little things. Basically, it's time to kick back and recharge your batteries. Note that the Sun passes over the GC on the 18th, typically a time of powerful and unusual influences -- tune in. Mercury is standing still on the 20th , about to resume normal motion, so the thinking mind may be extra thick just now. You may start feeling the shift to the next storm when the Sun enters Capricorn on the 21st and Mars moves into Sagittarius on the 25th.

Dec 26th to the end of the month

The 26th to the end of the month is another moderate storm pattern, a bit noisy and unfocused, although the peaks in this waveform look good and solid. The energies range in strength from 366 to 496 units -- reasonably strong without being overwhelming about it. The harmonics include H24, H6, H12, H36 and H48 -- rather constructive and helpful overall. The main peaks sweep from 13 to 19 degrees over the course of the week; 5 degrees is also active. Mercury and Venus conjoin and light up the trine once more, so this can be a very happy and upbeat time if you're in the mood. There's also an odd Mars-Uranus-Moon T-square on the 31st that caught my eye. Sparks could fly if you don't treat others fairly, but today could also be full of surprises as well. This mild pattern continues into the new year...
