Energy Patterns for May 2004

Major Waveform Patterns:

May 1st to the 4th -- more of the big April storm.
May 5th to the 14th -- time to reshuffle the energies.
May 15th to the 26th -- rough Mars-Saturn vibes blowing through!
May 27th to the end of the month -- time to catch your breath.

An online ephemeris for the month is available.

By and large, May is a month of strong and steady energy patterns. It has a couple of good storm patterns, but more importantly, even the "low periods" are still fairly organized and potent. In short, there's not much down time for us this month. Further, the harmonics in these waveforms tend to be demanding and stressful, though there are often helpful harmonics to mitigate the problems. It may feel like a long haul at times. I see 4 main energy patterns this month.

May 1st to the 4th

The 1st to the 4th is a continuation of the big storm at the end of April. The storm is tapering off in power already, ranging from 356 to 462 units of aspect strength. The harmonics include H24, H12 and some noise frequencies, mostly H48. As I said, it can be stressful and irritating, but the H12 takes some of the rough edges off of it. The energies are mostly focused at 8 and 22 degrees of each zodiac sign, give or take a few degrees -- see where this hits your birthchart! For only 4 days, there's a lot of activity going on -- 2 stations, a lunar eclipse on the 4th and an important aspect (Jupiter sextile Saturn). The planet that seems to dominate the energies is Pluto, indicating deeper unconscious forces are shaping our lives. Avoid big emotional entanglements with others, if you can, by being ruthlessly aware of your own motivations, as well as of others. Your true motivations, not the self-serving stories you like to tell yourself. It's easy to deceive yourself these days, especially with fuzzy Neptune so locked into the eclipse. Proceed carefully.

May 5th to the 14th

The 5th to the 14th is a long transition period after the storm. Actually, "transition" is a misleading term in this case. This waveform is essentially just as powerful (338 to 467 units) as the preceding period, so there's no sense of the energies "dropping off" at this time. The harmonics are more varied and changeable, however: H24, H48 , H6 and H12. A little more chaotic and scattered, though no easier, overall. The peak energy areas are 7 to 8, 22 to 26, and around 17 degrees of each zodiac sign. If you're looking at the aspects going off during this long period, there's not much happening. I wouldn't interpret that as no problems, however. The underlying tension of May is present all the time, in greater or lesser proportions, and this is a lesser time. This is a good time to clean up old projects and take care of loose ends, but I wouldn't attempt to kick off something new these days if the outcome is important to you. With Mars moving into Cancer on the 7th, you may not be too motivated to begin with. Take it easy, if you get the chance.

May 15th to the 26th

The 15th to the 26th is the next big storm pattern to blow through. The waveform is considerably stronger at times than the rest of the month, though it gets really quiet at other times, varying from 341 units (nearly comatose) to 537 late on the 24th, a sizable Koz Alert. The harmonics look more crisp and organized than usual, consisting mostly of H6, H12, H48 and H24 -- probably the most positive and productive energies all month. The primary areas of focus are 7 to 10 and 22 to 25 degrees of each sign. This is an active, but very complex period. If there's one planet that keeps coming up, it's that demanding Taskmaster, Saturn. With Neptune and Venus standing still on the 17th, the first half of this time may have a dreamy, romantic haze to it; this is a ripe time to get lost in a delusional fog that feels good. Things get more difficult in the second half, especially when Mars goes over Saturn on the 25th (oouch!!). Get your head out of the clouds and face up to some real, down to earth concerns. Considering the good harmonics now, practical effort can pay off handsomely -- it just may be a real pain sometimes. Give it your best shot.

May 27th to the end of the month

The 27th to the end of the month is another transition period, this one genuinely scattered and ragged looking. The waveform cools off in intensity quite a bit, roughly 333 to 462 units. The harmonics are a very fat and deformed H12, with considerable H48 supplying the noise. The peaks are scattered all over the place -- it's hardly worth it to list the degrees. Thank goodness for the Memorial Day weekend! With Jupiter and Neptune dominating this messy little waveform, I can't imagine any of us will get much done these days. Enjoy the time off.
