Energy Patterns for July 2003

Major Waveform Patterns:

Jul 1st to the 10th -- the end of the big storms, finally.
Jul 11th to the 22nd -- one long transition period.
Jul 23rd to the 29th -- a blast of energy, sort of.
Jul 30th to the end of the month -- slowing down again.

An online ephemeris for the month is available.

Following the raging storm months of May and June, July is quite a let down. The energies this month are weak and scattered, indicative of the powerful storm patterns finally dissipating and leaving the scene. It just seems like the planets are unable to speak with one voice anymore. Times like this generally tug you in a lot of separate directions all at once, sapping your energy and scattering your attention. You seem to be reacting to a lot of little things which keep you from focusing on the bigger issues. Relax and give yourself some slack. Be content with small results. I see roughly 4 main patterns this month.

Jul 1st to the 10th

The 1st to the 10th is the final stage of the big storm at the end of June. The waveforms are of moderate intensity levels once again, cooling off to the 338 to 492 unit regions. The main harmonics are H12, H48 and some H24 -- pretty good influences overall, but the situation is turning more difficult by the day. Some of the areas of each zodiac sign that are affected these days include the 3 to 6 degree zones, and to a lesser extent 17 to 19 and 23 degrees -- check whether you have any planets in your own birthchart near these degrees. The intense energies of last month are winding down and losing momentum. There are a number of outer planets (notably Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune) that are being activated by the faster planets, bringing considerably deeper forces to the surface. However, the effect is muted since the pattern is so unfocused (due to very large orbs in these aspects), which usually works in our favor. The 8th may be one of the more critical days in this period. Wind down your efforts and clean up loose ends. It's going to be more difficult to accomplish anything from here on.

Astrologically speaking, the fireworks on the Fourth of July are fizzling this year. The strong waveform in late June is now weakening, with static-y harmonics indicative of the planets not working well together. Considering that the nation's solar return is about this time, it doesn't say much about our prospects in the coming year. With Saturn in Cancer now, about to reach a retrograde station (13Cn14 on Oct 25) right on top of the USA Sun (13 degrees Cancer), this looks like a year of big responsibilities and few rewards. We might not want to pay attention to the shift, with the Moon going over the USA Neptune -- our Neptune allows us to ignore many unpleasant facts about ourselves. Chiron is opposite our Sun and square our Saturn, a sign that unfinished issues are creeping to the surface to be looked at.

Since George Bush also has his Sun at 13 Cancer, he's under many of the same stresses the coming year. Saturn on a person's Sun is never a recipe for a good time (unless past actions truly deserve to be rewarded). In addition, his natal Mars is directly opposite Mars in Pisces -- if anyone needs to reexamine his use of will power (which on a national level equals the military), it's Dubya. Neptune is still opposite his Pluto as well (especially this October), so I'm not holding my breath for a radical change in his behavior. This should be an interesting year...

Jul 11th to the 22nd

The 11th to the 22nd is one long, weak transition time -- not much happening now! The waveform shrinks down to the 322 to 457 unit levels -- a serious lack of "oomph" going on. The harmonics include H48, H12, H2 and some miscellaneous noise -- the waveform is breaking up and becoming chaotic. There's some minor emphasis going on around 2 to 6, 19 to 22 and 8 to 10 degrees at various times. This period is pretty much a big lateral drift time -- most days there's practically nothing going on worth mentioning. It may feel, after two months of high amp activity, that the world is crashing and grinding to a halt. This is really a good time to take a few days off and give yourself a break. You may feel quite busy, but not really getting anything accomplished, so don't feel driven by big goals. Take it slow and easy.

Jul 23rd to the 29th

The 23rd to the 29th is the closest July comes to a real storm pattern. The waveform is generally weak to moderate strength, but it does hit a low Koz Alert at one point -- 338 to 506 units is as good as it gets. The harmonics are a complex mixture of H24, H48, H4, H12 and H2 -- a challenging and stressful group of influences overall. The peaks emphasize 0 to 5, 22 to 25 and 9 to 11 degrees of each zodiac sign. The most prominent planets these days are Jupiter and Saturn (especially around the 25th and 26th), which forces our attention towards outer world concerns. There may be crises of various kinds that need to be dealt with, or you may find increased opportunities or responsibilities calling. It may also be difficult to actually do anything about these situations, since Mars is crawling to a halt by the 29th. This inhibits your ability to act and make decisions, as we seem to step on our own toes constantly. It's probably best to postpone action until after the 29th.

Jul 30th to the end of the month

Finally, the 30th to the end of the month is another transition period. The waveform decreases in strength once again, dropping to the 342 to 429 unit range. The harmonics consist of H48, H12 and H2 -- scattered and dragging us in many directions at once. The strongest areas of each zodiac sign are 0 to 3 and 7 to 9 degrees. This brief period could hold a few surprises for you, as Uranus the Trickster seems pretty active. It's a good time for mental work, particularly the kind that involves a lot of imagination or intuition. This energy is slowly picking up steam as we head into August.
